An Impossible Vampire Tale | #urbanfantasy #vampirebooks #comingsoon

November 2020

Hi Readers,

I’ve done the impossible.

I wrote a vampire tale that doesn’t fixate on romance and sex.

Who will read about vampires not having sex? I don’t know, but I suspect that there are plenty of fantasy readers out there that value relatable characters and emotion-driven plots.

I wrote “the end” today as I wrapped up the last scene in my vampire tale, and the feeling of completing a writing project (no matter the length) is phenomenal! 😊

This short story morphed into a novelette at around 14,000 words. It’s the second story I’ve written for publication using discovery writing aka the pantser method.

Progress Tracking: this is where I’m at …

  • Planning/research – I let the ideas for this story play around in my mind for a few days and develop before putting pen to paper. ✔️
  • Outline – A loose idea of the beginning and ending following the 3 act structure. ✔️
  • Draft 1 – Took me about 6 weeks of writing 3 days a week for about 2 hours at a time. ✔️
  • Feedback from beta readers – 1 week. ✔️
  • Draft 2 … In progress
  • Professional editing – 2 weeks.
  • Draft 3
  • Preparing Advance Reader Copies for book reviewers – 1 day.
  • Proofreading – ?
  • Final manuscript ready for publication
  • Release date: 12/8/20 🌟

Now that I’m in the editing phase I will develop my book launch plan and start introducing my new main character and her paranormal world to you.

Stay tuned!

Best wishes,

Azaaa Davis
